visit jujuy

El sabado 19 de diciembre de 2009 hicimos nuestro primera excursion aprovechando nuestra primera visita. Andrea la hermana de Alejandra vino con sus dos chicas Abril y Paula.



On the above foto we are in front of the village of Purmamarca. The kids stayed sleeping in the minibus and Andrea, Alejandra and me are enjoying the nice view to the "Seven Color Hill". Purmamarca is already 2200 mts about see level and therewith 1000 mts higher than San Salvador de Jujuy.



Anschließend sind wir von Purmamarca aus in die farbigen Berge zu Fuß und haben einen kleinen Rundgang durch die zerklüftete Berglandschaft gemacht.



En la plaza de Purmamarca hay una feria de artesanias. Paula encontró titeres de dedos y eligio cinco diferentes con los que jugaba durante el viaje.



That's the view from the market place to the colored hills behind Purmamarca:



Purmamarca liegt an der Ruta National 52 Richtung Chile und wir sind ein Stück zurück zur RN 9 um dann weiter bergauf Richtung Bolivien zu fahren. Auf der Strecke sind wir angehalten um den mehrfarbigen "Cerro Yacoraite" zu fotografieren (s.u.).



A 125 km de S.S. de Jujuy llegamos a Humahuaca. Ahi llegamos a una altura de casi 3000 mts.



The townhall of Humahuaca is a historic monument. At noon 12 o'clock every day a crowd is gathering in front of the building watching up to the clock waiting for ... what for? Sacred music is being heard at 12 o'clock sharp. Then after some few minutes a bent copper ledge in the middle of the main tower starts to move and the observer detects that it is a door opening slowly. A wooden figure appears, a monk with his cowl holding a cross in his hand. The wooden monk is starting moving head and arms blessing the audience slowly and several times. Nowadays the crowd is holding up camaras ... how it had been in the 18th century?





Von morgens 8:30 bis abends um 19:30 begeleitete uns unser Tourguide Raul. Er fuhr auch den Kleinbus und erzählte und erzählte.



Arriba se ven el cabildo de Humahuaca con el antiguo reloj el cual todos los mediodias mueve una imagen en tamano natural de San Fransisco Solano que se descubre para dar su bendicion a los presentes.

La iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria (vea abajo) es de 1641 y contiene pinturas de la escuela Cuzquena.

Auf dem Rückweg nach S.S. de Jujuy haben wir in Uquia angehalten und uns die Kirche San Fransisco de Paula angeschaut.



Atras de la iglesia encontramos un circulo de piedra y pensamos referido a la espiritualidad indigena. El arbul es un aguaribai (pepper tree). Parecia centenario.





The Tropic of Capricorn (Südlicher Wendekreis 23° 26' 22'') we found on our way south about 75 km before reaching S.S. de Jujuy. Only on December 21th at noon you can find the sun at the zenith. The foto above shows Alejandra in front of the big sundial there.



Pucará de Tilcara ist eines der wichtigsten archäologischen Museen Nordargentiniens, entstanden aus der Fundstätte eines alten indianischen Wehrdorfes der Tilcara-Indianer. Es liegt an einem äußerst guten strategischen Punkt über der Schlucht Quebrada de Humahuaca an der sich die Inkastraße kreuzt. Es befindet sich in einer Höhe von 2.450 m, einen Kilometer südlich der Stadt Tilcara auf einem Hügel 80 m über dem Río Grande. Es wurde 1906 entdeckt und ist ca. 900 Jahre alt. Wir haben uns auf dem Hügel mit Selbstauslöser fotografiert (oben) und unten ist ein Foto auf den Rio Grande.



Las llamas encontramos tambien en Pucará de Tilcara.



En Maimará se destacan los cerros llamados "Paleta del Pintor". Frente del pueblo y del los colores fuertes de los cerros tomamos el siguinte foto.



Last photo of todays story has taken on the way back from the view point of Maimará to the highway RN 9 where our minibus is waiting to carry us homewards to S.S. de Jujuy.
