11 Tren a las nubes - der Wolkenzug
The train to clouds - tren a las nubes - is a tour by train from Salta City in the valley of Lerma situated at 1187 meters above sea level, passing the Andes doorways along 217km uphill ending en "La Puna" at 4200 meters about sea level.



Der Zug durch die Wolken verläßt den Bahnhof in Salta um 7:00 morgens und fährt 217km bergauf bis zum Viadukt "La Polvorilla" in 4188m ü.NN. Dabei werden 29 Brücken, 21 Tunnel, 13 Viadukte, 2 Kehren und 2 Zigzag benutzt.



Fin de Junio 2010 hicimos el trayecto juntos con nuestros huéspedes de Uruguay, Cristina y Nelson. En la madrugada partimos desde la estación de Salta...



That train is one of the highest trains in the world, but the only one of which doesn't have a rack. The rack is a gear mechanism located benneth the train in order to climb the highest slopes.
